Limited Consultation and Therapeutic Care
FLATO Developments Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC)
The FLATO Developments Ambulatory Care Centre at Ross Memorial Hospital provides a range of specialized outpatient services that support cancer diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
Cervical Cancer HPV Screening
The Ontario Cervical Screening Program (OCSP) is a province‑wide initiative led by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario). The program’s goal is to reduce the risk of developing or dying from cervical cancer by encouraging regular cervical screening and appropriate follow‑up testing when abnormal results are found.
The OCSP supports people with a cervix, including women, two‑spirit, transmasculine, and non‑binary people, to access timely, evidence‑based screening, even if they do not have symptoms.
Ross Memorial Hospital offers preventative Human Papillomavirus (HPV) cervical screening through our Reproductive and Gynecological Health Clinic. This service is available through self-referral. HPV screening is also provided by RMH’s Obstetrician/Gynecologist for patients who have been referred for cervical assessment.
You may be eligible for Cervical Screening if you:
- Are 25 years of age or older
- Are a woman, two-spirit, transmasculine, or non-binary person with a cervix
- Have ever had sexual contact with another person
- Do not have symptoms, such as unusual vaginal bleeding or abnormal vaginal discharge
- Are due for screening based on the Ontario Cervical Screening Program’s recommendations
Colposcopy Services
Our Obstetrician/Gynecologists perform colposcopies for patients who require further assessment following abnormal cervical screening results. This procedure allows physicians to closely examine the cervix and obtain biopsies when needed to support accurate diagnosis and timely follow‑up.
Radiation Oncology Consultations
Visiting radiation oncologists offer consultation services for Kawartha Lakes residents undergoing radiation therapy. These clinics allow patients to receive pretreatment and follow‑up care closer to home, reducing travel and improving access to specialist support.
Outpatient Procedures and Treatments
Our FLATO Developments Ambulatory Care Centre also provides additional outpatient services, including:
- Blood transfusions for patients requiring cancer related or supportive treatments
- Phlebotomy (blood draws) for monitoring blood counts, treatment response, and ongoing cancer care
- Treatment for iron deficiency via infusion
These services allow patients to receive essential treatments and monitoring in a safe, comfortable, and accessible clinic environment.
