About Ross Memorial

Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is a 198-bed community hospital with a proud history extending back over 120 years. An active, community hospital serving more than 80,000 local residents and 35,000 seasonal visitors, our hospital is one of the largest employers in the region, with more than 950 staff members, 140 credentialed physicians, and more than 100 community volunteers. Together, the team provides compassionate, high quality patient care to more than 30,000 emergency patients and roughly 7,000 inpatients each year.

Among our acute and transitional care services, our team operates a 24/7/365 Emergency Department, a 15-station dialysis unit, provides orthopaedics, ophthalmology and general surgery, restorative seniors care, rehabilitation and palliative care, mental health programs, a reproductive and gynecology care clinic for unattached patients, and a full range of diagnostic imaging.

In 2024, the hospital received full accreditation with exemplary standing by Accreditation Canada, having met industry international standards of excellence. The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.

RMH is part of the Ontario Health East Region. The closest neighbouring hospitals include Peterborough Regional Health Centre 45 minutes to the east, Haliburton Highlands Health Services one hour to the north, and Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, one hour to the southwest. RMH is the only hospital in the City of Kawartha Lakes, a “cottage country” municipality of 3,000 sq. km located 140 km northeast of Toronto.
